I broke my ankle and…?
Question by Flying High: I broke my ankle and…?
I broke my ankle on the right side and sprained it on the otherside…really did myself in this time! I want it to heal as fast as possible because not only will I miss the rest of my Junior year’s soccer season but I want to be ready for the basketball season (Ive worked all year for this).
I know that milk helps “grow strong bones” but I wonder if drinking milk will help my bones heal faster, stronger, neither or what should I do to get my ankle to heal faster. I’m in a cast so I dunno what i can do besides rehab…does milk help?

Drinking milk is never a bad idea…you could try calcium supplements as well
Answer by Nevada Pokerqueen
Milk has calcuim and will help. But you should be on the maximum calcium supplement possible plus magnesium. They work together to build strong bones.
You may not want to hear this but soda pop is the worst thing for your bones. Don’t drink it. It leaches calcium out of the bones and makes them weak and prone to break.
Also a healthy diet will help too.
I broke my ankle last year. Totally mended in 6 weeks and the doc said my bones were super healthy for me and I am not a youngster. Good Luck
