Question by this guy with a question: How does an alcoholic get better on self-sufficiency alone?
is this possible? i know AA members say no but has anyone ever succeeded in this endeavor? or failed and learned something? im interested thank you

I succeeded, despite the best efforts of my family to drive me to drink.

I managed because otherwise I would be on the streets. Alcoholism is horrendous.
