Would it be possible to be functioning meth addict?
Question by guitarman: Would it be possible to be functioning meth addict?
Could a real meth addict live a sustainable life where they are doing meth in secret but still succeed on the job and still have a social life and a good marriage? Meth addicts are always portrayed by Hollywood and the media as completely out of control. I know there are coke users who are quite successful by conventional societal standards. They do lines in the bathroom one second and then they go back to their job the next second as a businessman or doctor or lawyer or actor or musician, etc. And folks around them don’t even really know they are addicted. Is it that easy to conceal meth use?

No. Meth addiction is noticeable. People will begin to look different and act different. Their teeth will rot out eventually. They cannot function, at least not for long. There are many different levels of meth addiction so in the beginning (as addiction can happen almost immediately) there may be no signs but as a person gets deeper into it, they will be able to hide it from no one. If you know someone struggling with this help them to find help.

The answer to your question is no. My dad does meth, and in 3 years, he lost his leg.
Meth is more powerful than alot of other drugs.. and eventually. it will kill you. you may live a while with your addiction, but eventually, it will be the cause of your death.. no doubt.
