how much heroin would it take to overdose and make it look like an accident?
Question by Ashley S: how much heroin would it take to overdose and make it look like an accident?
i’m writing this short story about what happens in the aftermath of the death of this kid. only, nobody is quite sure about if he’d purposefully killed himself or if it was an accidental overdose.
and since i’m such suburban milquetoast, i have no idea about how much heroin it would take.
help please?
…
i’m not trying to kill anybody, rest assured.

Within limits, it’s not so much the amount that makes it look like an accident as it is the circumstances of the crime scene. It has to look like the individual took the heroin voluntarily, and that he he did not expect to die.
The amount is important, of course, but it needs to look like the victim didn’t expect an overdose. Typical scenarios are that he mixed it with another drug like alcohol and the two were too much, or that he was used to something that was cut more but got a purer quality than usual.
Naturally, if someone had five grams of heroine in him, it probably wouldn’t look like an accident. If the dose was an obvious overdose, it would look like suicide or murder. The amount that a person could tolerate would depend on whether he was experienced or a habitual user. As for how many milligrams that would be, according to http://www.drug-overdose.com/heroin.htm , it would take 200-500mg of heroin to overdose:
“Depending on purity and the user, a lethal dose of heroin may range from 200 to 500mg, but hardened addicts have survived doses of 1800mg and over. However, with street heroin there is no absolutely certain “safe dosage”. It depends on tolerance, amount and purity taken. Overdose can occur when a dose taken is greater than that you’re used to. A tolerable dose for an addict could be fatal to a first-time user. Tolerance to heroin in particular is quickly acquired. Even occasional weekend users need to take more to get the same effect over time. Tolerance can drop. Some users have overdosed on their ‘regular dose’, after just a few week’s break.”
EDIT Who’s the retard that gave everybody a thumbs down? Some prude, no doubt, who doesn’t approve of the discussion. Get a life, loser. Adults able to deal with reality are having a discussion
