Question by Rackjack: My buddy has a breathalizer from Sharper Images. We were leaving the bar Saturday & blew good to go..except my
one buddy who was clearly drunk. He blew into the breathalizer and the reading came up Ho5. The warning light was blinking really fast, but other than that we were wondering exactly what the Ho5 reading might mean.
We joked that it meant “go straight to rehab”, but it might not be too far from truth with this guy…Anybody out there NO JOKING, know what that means? No guesses please.
The reason I dont READ the instruction manual is because AS I WROTE it is my buddy’s breathalizer…NOT mine. I am being NOSEY about my other buddy’s possible alcohol problem and do not wish to bug the owner of the product with this question.
Thanks for the well thought out answer and you are welcome for the 2 points you didn’t earn.
Oh, one more detail. We tested him 4 times over a 20 minute period and it kept doing the same thing.

Why don’t you READ the Instruction Booklet that came packaged with it?

I’m not guessing, I’m just trying to help. Read the owners manual. All codes should be listed. If you can not find it, it could be a re-set, or error code. You can always call the toll free number on the manual, or contact Sharper Image. These devices are only accurate to a certain degree. Keep this in mind. One of the violations is Driving Under the Influence. Just because the breathalyzer says you’re good to go, that doesn’t mean that you’re not impaired. Don’t rely on that piece of equipment to keep you out of jail.
