How do I tell my boyfriend I cut myself?
Question by Robin: How do I tell my boyfriend I cut myself?
I’ve been dating this boy for awhile and we’ve been really close friends for awhile. I want to tell him about my addiction of cutting because I know he’d still love me, accept me and help me. I want to tell him face to face, but I have no idea how or when to bring u such a sensitive subject. He will be the first person I tell. And, please, don’t just answer telling me how bad it is for me to cut myself and all that crap because, trust me, I know.

I am going to assume that you are still young enough to be under your parents medical insurance….GO GET HELP….telling this boy is the least of your troubles right now. If you choose to tell him, fine, whatever, but the biggerissue is the cutting, not if or why….your boyfriend will accept it. You state….I want him to accept me and help me….the first word “accept” is a farce, because you dont even accept yourself, how will he. The second word “help me”, its not his job to help you, its your family’s/parents/siblings…..you’re gona put a heavy load on the bofriend by expecting him to HELP you.

If you know it’s bad, stop doing it.
Best answer? Stop, and avoid having to have the conversation altogether.
Realize no one can save you. Your boyfriend ultimately cannot help you, only you can. It’s your choice whether to stop or not. Not his.
