Do conservatives think being addicted to legal drugs is better, that deserves “treatment”, not jail?

Question by jane l: Do conservatives think being addicted to legal drugs is better, that deserves “treatment”, not jail?
Cons seem to think that there is a big difference between legal drugs and illegal drugs.
Morphine is the purest of the opiates and is legal– and oxyconton works like morphine.
Just wondering what they think is better or worse about all drugs besides it’s illegality/legality status?

Being addicted to any drug is a crock.Yes your body may crave the drug, but you dont have to give in.You are weak.Oh and its the same thing with weed and alcohol.
Alcohol is by far worse for you yet its legal, weed is the lesser of two evils and is illegal.
