People use ephedrine to make methamphetamine. I understand they use it to create a “rush” of some kind. If one was wanting to buy pure ephedrine just to have energy or weight loss, would having it possession be considered “meth”? And also, is taking pure ephedrine like doing methamphetamine? Since they use ephedrine, would it be like do it?

The only difference between the two is that methamphetamine has hydroxyl. So basically ephedrine just isn’t as potent and will have less biological effects. It’s illegal to market in the US and you’re really only supposed to get it through a prescription that way it can be moderated. So if you have pure uncut ephedrine then you’ll basically get charged with possession of methamphetamine.
