Thursday-24/02/11-Thankful Thursday- Rachel – How Do I Maintain Recovery? – During our recovery, whether that is 3 weeks in, 3 months in or 3 years in, we question is recovery worth it? Can I keep doing this? Why is this so hard? We question whether things will get better, but what we often neglect to see is that we are in fact moving forward. Maintainence of recovery means still fighting. Staying in recovery means we need to keep finding ways to keep going and look at strategies to keep moving forward . I discuss the importance of routine, being accountable and expressing feelings, even those that seem “negative.” I provide examples of building in activities that move us away from the eating disorder.
