Why is there so much hate towards Libertarianism?
Question by Mr. Horsepower: Why is there so much hate towards Libertarianism?
I see it all over the internet, on tv, here on Y!A. It seems like everyone always generalizes Libertarians as people who a selfish and seem them selfs as always right and live in a Fantasy world(Yet I see so many Neocons and Liberals that do the same thing). I see it on so called “conservative forums” we the so called “conservatives” constanly call Libertarians, “socialists” for not agreeing with Palin and Huckabee. I see it on the so called Fox news, were Glen Beck, Hannity and O’reily all openly hate Libertarians )Only Andrew Napolitano. I see it on CNN, ABC, NBC, and other political Forums.
I see a lot on hear were the Liberals say Somila is a Libertarian country and Ron Paul should move there.
Why is it that Libertarianism attracts so much hate? Is it because it seems new to people(though the idea has been around since 1775) and people fear it since its new?
Is it because Libertarianism is known but its not currently in power so its easy for the Neocons and Liberals to diss?
I’m not sure whats with all the hate against it, and surprisingly more hate comes from Republicans than Democrats. Why is that?
