Question Regarding The Possibility Of Being A Sex Addict.?
Question by natey1112: Question Regarding The Possibility Of Being A Sex Addict.?
A little about myself.
I’m an 18 year old, homosexual teenager. Who started out sexually, late. At least in my opinion. I was reading online about “sex addiction” And i began to worry. Am i a sex addict?.
My reasons for worrying –
I tend to masturbate, 1 – 2 Times daily when i have stuff to do. Mostly when i have downtime.
and 1 – 3 Times daily when i have nothing to do for that day.
I like some hardcore pornography. I read that was a sign. But i’ve always liked it. It’s not some “thrill” thing. I read that online.
Now the main reason i’m worried. is because. Every. Single. Time. I am with my boyfriend. I want to have sex with him. He, in the past, has made this clear to me. Saying i try to push sex too often. I have tried to control myself. Only to end up trying to persuade him.
I’m worried i am a sex addict. I am in therapy. What are the treatments, And do i match the criteria? Thanks!

To be honest, it sounds like you are a horny teenager, nothing weird about that. That’s well within the range of normal amounts of masturbation. If it is interfering with your relationship then that is concern, and something to work on, but this does not sound unusual to me.
