Will my brother die if he continues doing what he’s doing?
Question by : Will my brother die if he continues doing what he’s doing?
PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS. I REALLY NEED HELP.
My brother’s been a drug addict for two years. He switches what he uses to get high. It started with just weed, then ecstacy, then acid, cocaine, opium, now he’s onto heroin. He ‘died’ from an overdose, but he was revived with naloxone. How did the paramedics manage to get there ontime? He overdosed with some heroin addict he met that day. This guy he met wrote a note and stuck it in his pocket. It read: “I didn’t want you to die, so I called 9-1-1. I hope you get help, and I hope I get help to.”. That’s how the paramedics got there ontime. He was then taken to jail for a week. When he got out, he was taken to a detox. He was there for 2 days, then he left with this guy. They went and bought 4 bottles of mouthwash (listerine). They each chugged two and got drunk. The police arrested them on the street, and took them to the hospital. Then they flushed the mouthwash out of their systems, and they both left. My brother is now in detox right now. You might think, “he’s in detox so he’s getting help”. He’s been in detox 10+ times, and he’s been in 3 rehabs. The best he’s done is a week and a half.” If you’re wondering, he just turned 16 in February.
I know it’ll come. I know he will die. Whenever I hear something new, I just laugh. I can’t accept it, yet I know one day he’ll die. He’s overdosed 5 times in the past year.
Why is he doing this to himself? Why can’t he just get help?
don’t say ‘god is praying for you’. i don’t believe in god just help me please
I think he’s a genius. WHen I was little, I would look up to me. I would make a statement then say “Right, Ryan”?
I blame my dad for everything. My dad is a complete asshole. He doesn’t give my brother what he needs, which is affection. He left rehab, and phoned my dad because he had nowhere to go. He asked my dad if he could stay at his house, and my dad declined. my brother argued with him and my dad swore at him. Then my brother went and overdosed and got rushed to the hospital. My dad also has depression and right now she’s in the hospital and they’re trying to fix her medication. I’m staying with my grandparents and he doesn’t get along with them very well.
He pleaded guilty to all his previous charges when he got out of jail on Friday. He was then released after being told they’re going to set a trial date. I hope they send him to a mandatory rehab if that’s possible, although he may just relapse.

People turn to getting high as a coping mechanism. How is your family life? How is his school life? What is his intelligence level? Does he have any issues that would affect his mental capacity? Some people turn to drugs and getting high and a way to escape reality, others do it as a social event, and yet others do it just for the feeling. If he continues down this path, he WILL die. Of that, there is no doubt. The only question is when. You can help him though, if he won’t stop himself get a judge to help. Judges can issue mandatory rehabs for people who are repeat drug abusers. You CAN do something. Talk to your parents, talk to your friends, talk to a counselor at school. Let people know, they will help.
