I live in Hawai’i, and “ice” is very popular here. I live in a community of locals, and for months we thought the home next to us was empty. There is a house across the street from the empty house where some shady characters live, and we have frequently noticed people stopping there for 20 -30 minutes at a time, and then leaving. However, usually starting around 10pm into the night, we notice lights on at the “empty” house next to us, and people visiting there, cars going to and from – up until 3 or 4am. Sometimes at night there is an awful smell coming from the house, I can’t describe it, it is really disgusting.
I found out recently that the people in the house across from the “empty house” own it, and that there IS someone living there. I have only seen the man living there once, he usually stays inside with all of the curtains pulled. I saw him at the mailbox one day, and he looked a mess. Very skinny, shaking, and wouldn’t make eye contact with me. I went up to say hi, and he grabbed his mail and high-tailed it back to the house.
The people in the occupied house have had the cops called on them before for domestic violence, and every time the cops come – they seem to leave pretty quickly, almost as if they say everything is fine and they usher them out of there. I have been told several times by the neighbors that “they don’t want cops around here” and not to call the cops if we hear anything going down next door.
What do I do? I have a 3 year old that I used to let play outside, but now I’m getting a little freaked. It is usually okay during the day but at night I start getting freaked out. I think that the guy that lives in the house is the “cook” and I see a lot of weird containers in their trash bins, (which they wait until the last minute to put out). I am worried that they might mess up and cause an explosion, and I don’t like the people that come around.
I am one for minding my own business, but when it’s something that could put my family in danger I get freaked out. I feel like I can’t call the cops because they’ll know it was us, and might hurt me and my family. What do I do?

You can call in an anonymous tip that there is a meth house. Meth houses are very dangerous, not only because of the criminal element, but because of the chemicals used to create meth. They are very harmful and highly explosive. It can and more than likely is very dangerous for you and your family. I suggest you call very soon.
