Question by K: Confused about all this..please don’t judge?
I asked this before, but I need more answers.
First and foremost, I don’t want any judgmental comments. I hear enough judgment from my family and some of my friends that are aware of this situation. Also, please just stick to the question at hand.
I’ve been close with my friend’s family for over a year. I consider them my second family and they consider me a part of their family as well. The situation is that I have had feelings for my friend’s dad for quite a while and I think he might have a crush on me, too. I know that sounds weird, but it’s been known to happen. Ever since we first met, he has always stared at me. I’ll sometimes look over at him and he’ll be staring at me. He also always tries to make eye contact with me. Whenever we do make eye contact, he tries to prolong the gaze, but I usually look away out of nervousness. He always smiles at me or around me, even when we’re talking, he’ll be smiling. He often playfully picks on me or teases me, just to make me laugh or smile and he’s even said that he likes my smile and that I need to smile more often. He’ll also use any random excuse to talk to me. For example, he once randomly told me not to do meth, “not even once” lol. It was completely out of nowhere. When we’re physically close, he’ll hardly look up at me and he’ll act nervous and awkward (kind of like sexual tension). He says sweet things to me a lot, i.e. calling me a “beautiful soul”. etc.
I know we’ll both never pursue each other. I wouldn’t because I would never do that to his wife or to his kids. Also, I don’t have it in me to have an affair. I know he won’t pursue me because he would’ve tried already (even though we’ve never REALLY been alone) and he’s afraid of his wife, as she’s mentally ill.
I’m 20 and he’s at least 20 years older than me. Do you think there is something there between us? Please don’t lecture me, just answer the question at hand.
Amanda-I used to see him practically every weekend, but now we only see each other once a month.
BTW he isn’t just being “friendly” because he doesn’t act this way towards our other female friend.
Actually, absence makes the heart grow fonder, so the feelings haven’t faded even slightly whilst not seeing him.
