I have to give up my addiction, I’ve hit bottom, want to see a counselor need advice?
Question by Phoenix: I have to give up my addiction, I’ve hit bottom, want to see a counselor need advice?
I’m going to try to make this a short as possible, I have a gambling problem, I know it but can’t stop. Im typing this right now after a another horrible relapse these past few days. I’ve been trying to treat myself but its not working. The thoughts going to through my head aren’t right. I honestly lost it all, I called a hotline tonight I dont know what made me do it but they want me to meet a counselor. I guess Im afraid of what I could say to them could possibly get me in trouble. If I tell them something that may come off as suicidal, which Im not in the least, Im just really depressed, that this may get blown out of proportion. Should I be afraid of this? Any advice, thoughts are welcome too. Please be nice

Counselors have heard it all, and are not likely to blow things out of proportion. They are pretty level headed and see things for the way they are. they will just talk to you to get an idea of where you are really at
