Will admitting my addiction and my sins to my family help me to overcome them?

Question by Steve: Will admitting my addiction and my sins to my family help me to overcome them?
I have a crippling alcohol addiction that I want to overcome. I have so many embarrasing pathetic things that I have done. I know that the path I am taking right now is the wrong one and I want to change my life. I want to admit my sins to my family but I am ebarrassed at what Ive done with my life.

Do you think If i sit them down and finally admit my problems will it help me overcome? I just want to be rid of these feelings that I know arent right. I know my life can be happy but right now its a mess.

I think it could help. You will feel better without this big dark secret hanging over you. And your family can support you in your recovery if they know you’re struggling. You don’t have to tell them everything right off the bat. But admitting your addiction can help you a lot. Good luck overcoming your demons.
