Does she have the right attitude?

Question by Savage serenity: Does she have the right attitude?
I am just so sick and tired of my sister in law. I almost said something to her today.

She believes that her parents “abused” her. The reason she believes this is because she weighed 260 pounds at the tender age of 13. She was very obese. As a result of her appearance, she was made fun of by bullies in school. It scarred her. She has an anxiety disorder now, and is very anxious around people, especially people her own age (she is now 22). She lost the weight on her own, which I respect and admire. She has self discipline. She has lost about 80 pounds. She’s at a very healthy weight now.

She always keeps bringing up the fact that her parents have abused her. Is that accurate? Did they, in fact, abuse her by letting her eat unhealthy foods and get really fat?

Is she not accountable at ALL?

She stomps around the house, evidently pissed off all the time about something or other. She is very, very disagreeable. She is very, very whiny, and complains a lot.

But she seldom helps around the house. I usually do the dishes in the kitchen. She usually watches TV or plays on the computer.

Anyway, does she have the right to call her parents, my in-laws, abusers?

Is there anything I can say that is neutral, but helps her to try and stop blaming everyone but herself for her life?
