no, “methyl” is a hydrophobic alkyl functional group named after methane (CH4) – like ethyl, . It has the formula -CH3 and is often abbreviated -Me. Such hydrocarbon groups occur in many organic compounds. It is strictly a chemical makeup with 3 hydrogens bonded to a Carbon atom (C^-1).

“METH” is methamphetamine – way worse for you. it tends to thin out our population though, which may have great long term effects on “natural selection”.

If i recall correctly the methylprednisolone is a steroid, with the “methyl” being a delivery agent or more specifically a specific delivery path..being hydrophobic it won’t become soluble in water.

Cheers!
