So You’re Thinking of Quitting Smoking?

(PRWEB) January 1, 2005

Well, here’s what you should know before you make your final important decision on which method you should choose to help you quit.

First you should know that in considering quitting smoking you will be making possibly the most important choice in your life because if you do decide to quit it will very likely save you from an agonising death or years of misery with chronic ailments.

Every year, around *120,000 smokers in the UK die as a result of their habit which means that smoking kills around six times more people in the UK than road traffic and other accidents, poisoning and overdose, suicide, HIV infection and even murder and manslaughter which all put together only total around *20,000

About half of all regular cigarette smokers will eventually be killed by their habit and smoking causes about thirty per cent of all cancer deaths (including around *90% of lung cancer deaths), *17% of all heart disease deaths and at least *80% of deaths from bronchitis and emphysema.

Have you made your choice yet?

If you made the right choice, here it is, the information that will help you decide which option is best for you:

Willpower

Ok so you think that you have what it takes to quit using willpower!

Actually the figures for people actually stopping smoking using willpower alone are very low, some sources claim this to be around *6%

Willpower (conscious determination) counts for very little in quitting the habit, it is a change in thought process that really counts. Your addiction to tobacco is a complex sub-conscious addiction and the best way to cure it is by altering your sub-conscious beliefs, associations/dissociations and behaviour about tobacco.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)

You could visit your local Government funded clinic and have NRT patches or gum.

Or even a little inhaler that looks like a plastic cigarette…cute.

You were considering quitting weren’t you, so why prolong the process of putting nicotine into your body? The addiction to smoking is not just about nicotine, that’s only a small part of the problem. In fact your addiction is far more deeply rooted in your sub-conscious than you realise.

Some sources claim this to be around *40% successful others as low as *10%

Hypnotherapy

Visit a respected local Hypnotherapist

Mr Hodgkiss from Burntwood hypnotherapy said “Well as a Hypnotherapist I am bound to say that it is the best way…. that’s obvious.

However if you consider that recent statistics show that even single session Hypnotherapy for smoking can be as high as *60% and that some methods that incorporate two or three sessions and NLP techniques can increase that figure to around *85% you have to consider this option seriously. At Burntwood Hypnotherapy I only use, teach and promote a system of therapy which incorporates methods aimed at giving the individual the best possible chance of success over a minimum of three sessions. Whether you visit myself or another Hypnotherapist trained at Burntwood Hypnotherapy by me you are sure to give yourself the best possible start in a new life free from smoking”

So what’s involved?

“When you call Burntwood Hypnotherapy or one of our therapists you will be invited to a FREE consultation which normally lasts around 20 – 30 minutes. During the consultation you will be required to fill in a short questionnaire, nothing too difficult, it is just to help us ascertain some details about you and your habit. If you are accepted on the programme, and you truly want to stop smoking three appointments will be booked for you. It is very important that you keep to these appointments”
