I did a system recovery on my windows xp and usually all the vids etc that I downloaded and my desktop come back. This time it didn’t, and I did all the same stuff. Also I know that I didn’t accidentally use a destructive version because all of the programs I downloaded still have icons on my start menu, which doesnt happen with the destructive one. Does anyone know how I can get my stuff back?

Sounds like you got a new user profile.
Open C:\users
Look and see if there are multiple profiles and how big they are.

Also, look to see if there is a C:\oldwindows folder if so your stuff is in there
