Question by Jake Dolce: What can I do to support sister in her committment to quit heroin?
She has just checked her self into intensive rehab and she will begin treatment with methodone very soon. I will not be able to see her, but what are some encouraging words I could say to her in a letter? Please suggest that or anything else I could do.

just let her know you love her.. sorry you are going through this… and when she gets out you and your family need to show her you al love her very much… the reason people get hooked is the drug makes them feel good and they don’t feel good about themselves. don’t kiss too much butt but make sure you are there for her so she does not fall back on drugs. Tell her you love her and talk to your whole family about what needs to change. i watch intervention on A & E and maybe you should too! it shows how these addictions affects a whole family and you may see some similarities in your family that are causeing your sister to get on drugs
