why after a year of not smoking am I still struggling with my nicotine addiction?

Question by layla_743544: why after a year of not smoking am I still struggling with my nicotine addiction?
I guess my question says it all. I was a long term smoker (30 years). I finally quit two years after losing 2/3 of a lung to cancer. I am cured of the cancer but I am still craving cigarettes so much it drives me nuts sometimes. Is this ever going to go away. Please……..if you have never been addicted to cigarettes don’t bother to answer…….you have no idea what we go through. Thanks

Its the worst I quit for seven yrs then went back to it now I have quit for 2 months…it is worse than getting off of heroin that is a fact…
I chew gum then suck on popsicles ..popsicles work the best…
My grandmother smoked for 70yrs..I think it is a combo of pollution as well as the chemicals in our food as to why there is so much cancer ..good luck to you…
