What is the Average recovery time for a breast reduction?

Question by crackiswhack: What is the Average recovery time for a breast reduction?
My doctor told me i could go back to work within a week. Im not so sure about this. My job requires me to do a lot of lifting which uses the pectoral mucsles. Has anyone else had this surgery or know of someone who has and how was their recovery?

i have not had breast reduction surgery. reading up on it, it says that you will need to have a drainage tube under each arm to collect the blood and pus from your incisions anywhere from one day to several weeks, as every woman’s healing time will vary. according to some info i found on the mayo clinic web page, it says that some woman MAY be able to return to work in 2-3 weeks as long as their job does not require strenuous activity. as your job requires lifting, it sound like you shouldnt be going to work in a week. as the site says, it may take up to a month for women to heal fully. i am not a doctor, but my advice would be to give yourself longer then a week to get back to work. get some rest and go back when you are sure youre able to. good luck!
