Question by Leslie: Do you think my sister can get off drugs while in an abusive marriage?
She has been married 7 years (with the guy for 10). Even before they were married, he starting hitting her. Its gotten bad at times — police intervention, ER trips, etc. He still hits her, but now makes her life hell with verbal abuse, daily. (Thank God they don’t have kids.)

To cope, my sister has become addicted to alcohol and a few other drugs. (She was introduced to them all by her husband.) She has talked about going into rehab, but she has no intention of ending the marriage, and I wonder if she should even bother — do you think she can ever stop abusing substances while married to this man?

she would just stop if her husband treats her with respect in a loving manner.,., surrounding really do matter u c.. by hook or by crook get her out of that house.. make a police complain abt the guy’s behavior towards her. make her join rehab center again. take her out sumwhr in fresh surroundings towards nature.. ask her to pray in order to achieve peace of mind..
