Precribe Methadone for Lupis Pain?
Question by Bobby: Precribe Methadone for Lupis Pain?
I know a woman who I’ve seen frequenting a methadone clinic that is near the building I work in. I asked her what she was doing in there.
She said that a doctor had “prescribed” methadone for the pain she has to endure due to her having Lupis.
I wouldn’t think that methadone would be prescribed for anything but heroin withdrawal.
Is she lying to me?

No she’s not. Methadone is commonly prescribed for people who are in extreme chronic pain as it is effective. People put a lot of judgements on this because of it’s connections to herion, which is a shame, because people in this amount of pain already have enough stuff on their plate to deal with. It’s hard to explain over and over that they aren’t junkies.
Lupus can be a very painful and difficult illness. I’m glad that she’s getting the support that she needs.
