Question by TattooedGrandma: My laptop wont boot windows and I lost my recovery disk can I save it?
It’s an hp dv6000 laptop OS is windows xp media center edition and has a cursor blinking on the left top of a blank screen
it does recognize cd rom drive but the disk i did try to use from a friend ends up saying I have no disk drive.

If the hard drive makes a ticking noises then the hard drive has failed you can have data recovered at a computer shop. Did it come up and say OS not found? or no bootable device found?
