Opiate addiction questions, what should I do?
Question by meow420: Opiate addiction questions, what should I do?
I’m 20 years old. Ok so I have an addiction to narcotic painkillers.. I’ve done basically every kind of opiate there is, oxycodone, hydrocodone, heroin, morphine, etc… I’ve never shot up though. I’ve been in rehab before, but they only had me on Suboxone for a week. From what I have been reading, I should have been put on it for months, even a year or 2 or even longer. I was off of them for about 6 months, but then I started using again. I want to quit because I know that it’s going to only get worse, but I just can’t. I love getting high WAY too much and life’s problems just seem to all go away when I’m high. I haven’t had really bad withdrawals before until now. I feel sick and have insomnia and restless leg syndrome and the cravings are incredible. Anyone that’s on Suboxone, or has been and is now clean with any information would be greatly appreciated. I’m not sure what I should do because I have several other psychiatric problems as well, but I REALLY don’t want to discuss this with my parents AGAIN because they think that I’m clean. I want to get clean so I can fully function in life, but it seems that I can only function when I’m high. Would the Suboxone treatment psychiatrist also have me see a therapist or what? I’m VERY positive that I have social anxiety as well and have had it for some time, but my parents don’t approve of the drugs that they give for that even though I’ve taken them before and NOT abused them because I don’t like the high from the benzodiazepines. I only like the high from opiates, which is why I’ve been on them for a while. What’s your advice on what I should do?
Also rehab is NOT an option. Only an outpatient program would be acceptable.

Straight out quit, go through the withdrawal (Which is f_cking hell, if you’ve never been through it) Get clean, stay clean. Opiates suck, and they are annoyingly hard to function on, not to mention the constipation as a lovely side effect………………….Great my back doesn’t hurt, but I haven’t shat in a week! Not a very fun trade off. Stick to pot man, stay away from opiates, and as I said, get clean, stay clean. Only the weak need Suboxone, and sh_t like that, do it cold turkey, suck it up, and stay off them. You know as well as I do it only gets worse as you go.
Hope this helps
