Question by caring nurse1: I NEED FAST ADVICE, I HAD A DEMENTIA PT KNOCKED ME BACKWARDS, A MAN FROM W/C IS COMING TO MY HOUSE,I AM SCARED?
I LOVE MY JOB, AND I KNOW I SAVED HIM FROM FALLING ON HIS FACE. but I was really hurt, I hit the hardwood floor backward, hitting my neck first, then I got a migraine headache, the cna brought me ice and a towel. my head was trobbing, approx 24hrs later, I noted numbness in my left foot as well as both my hands. The director of nursing was so rude, I hung the phoneup and cried. I have only been on my job 2months, I love those veterans, I truly love nursing and I want to get better fast so I can return to work. I hope they don’t hate me, I know the cna’s know how much I care. It is a state job, and this is overwhelming me since I am not a frequent flyer of w/comp. They have a company called managed care-she hasn’t approved my case? and then this man calls and needs to come to my house to “help” me coordinate my drs. I go for a mri on sat. I not ready to quit nursing. I just have never experienced such pain and then be put thru all this. they are not looking out for me,are they? coming to my house? My husband is awaiting phone calls from attornies in the morn. He is on retirement, but its not that much. Please can someone help me. I thought I was tough, but this is very painful and I have to pay my bills. VCU took me out on a board to stabalize my neck, it didn’t hurt as bad until about 2 days later it really started.

I would just tell WC what really happened, and wait on the test results from the mri. If were helping this patient and they did that, i understand the circumstances, but just tell the employer that, and wait it out, it will work out, and you have nothing to worry about.
