Have you made efforts in your life to be more green?

Question by kristinmazz1: Have you made efforts in your life to be more green?
It’s such a trend today…a great trend, but it is trendy to be green. Have you really made an effort to be more green? I have made a lot of changes, but the one I am most proud of ditching bottled water. Looking back I realize how silly my “addiction” was. Its more expensive per gallon than gas, it takes a lot of energy to bottle & ship, and then the plastic bottles, according to statistics only about 10% actually get recycled. I got sparklets & use a refillable water bottle (since the tap water in my city is really bad-most are not) . I have done many other things, but I realize how silly I was about bottled water & think that is one of the easiest changes.

So have you really made an effort, or is it just a trendy effort, and what change are you most proud of?

Refuse, reduce, reuse then recycle and compost. Sustainability, it is a way of life for me (and I love it). I have too many achievements of release from my addiction to ‘mass debt, ecological poisoning consumerism’, 14 years clean now. But I digress, petroleum is something we as citizen of the U.S. need to get a grip with. We the people waste tremendous amounts of limited expensive petroleum on throwaway items, mostly plastic ware. The craziest thing I think consumers do is BUY brand-new plastic garbage bags to be placed in a giant toxic land zit, “forever”.
Anyway peace.
