Question by batflyz2: My Son Caught Sniffing Tobacco In School, Now He Is Trying To Push A Loophole?
Last week, my son was caught sniffing tobacco (snuff) out of a tin can out of his locker. What is tricky about this situation is that since he has just turned 18, he is of legal age to purchase tobacco. However, the school does not allow smoking in or around the school grounds. The loophole that my son is trying to prove is that since he was not “smoking” that the school should not penalize him because he wasn’t smoking anything and he was of legal age to have the item. The school forbids smoking, true, but they did not make it clear that it’s “no tobacco use” they mean and just not smoking.
Does he have a good chance of getting away with this? The principal and the board of admin. are confused because they never dealt with snuff before.

he must get a copy of the school guidelines for the current school year, see if it’s spelled out there. when i went to school, they made it clear.
