I think I’m bipolar, and I’m ready to see a doctor..?
Question by Smile & Wave: I think I’m bipolar, and I’m ready to see a doctor..?
My insurance is Tri Care Prime and I have a PCM but do I need to see him to get a referral to a specialist? I’ve felt like something was off my whole life and being married now with a 2 year old I don’t want to do this anymore. Depression is not the predominant, I have looooong bouts of insomnia and ‘highs’ but when I come down it’s really bad. It’s gotten much worse lately, causing stupid fights between myself and my family and I KNOW I am being irrational. What kind of medication would I be prescribed? I’m scared to start taking several different medicines as addiction and abuse runs in my family (both my parents). I need something to help me sleep, and help me be myself again. It’s not fair to my daughter, or husband, or to myself to be half the woman I could be.. if I had help.
wanted to add that my insomnia has been so bad the past couple of weeks that I have been having to take Unisom to even relax. It’s taking at least three now.

You can call your insurance company to find out what your benefits are and if you need a referral, etc. Put your info into the automated system and then say “Customer Service” and it will get you to a real person….I verify insurance for my moms medical practice 🙂 let me know if you need any help….I can ask her for advice (and it’s free)
