Question by I know i know!!!!: how do i stop my dad from drinking alcohol?
my dad is 50 years old and has been drinking since before i was born, and he’s obviously being affected by the years of drinking…he would do so many stupid things, and ask the dumbest questions, and he wasn’t as dumb when i was younger…but now it’s getting really annoying. He would forget so many things and i would have to keep repeating it to him and his mentality is at an all time low right now…what can i do??? Other than learn not to drink after seeing what alcohol does to you over a long term drinking addiction… He averages to about 3 to 5 beers plus wine on days that’s he’s off and about 2 or 3 beers on days that he’s working

You can’t.

Sorry, but that’s the truth. You could try an intervention, or write him a letter and tell him that until he stops drinking and gets help you won’t be in his life, but it’s his choice.

Pray for him. And don’t drink.
