I have been with my boyfriend for 16 months. I am a 30 yr old single mother and have been in recovery from drug addiction for 3 years now. I have a good job, my own place and i am for the most part, responsible. This guy is 33 and lives with his parents with no plans to move out. He just got a license and car a couple months ago, he calls in sick to work whenever he feels like it. I found out a couple months into the relationship that he was doing drugs and dumped him… he promised to get sober and to my knowledge he has so i took him back. He doesn’t approve of how I am with my 3 yr old son and calls him a titty baby and criticizes me and my parenting. I know he has a good heart and he is smart with so much potential but no ambition at all. We had an argument on Sunday about my son which he started at breakfast in front of my Aunt and Uncle. So Sunday night I broke up with him. He is calling and trying to negotiate and doesn’t want to break up. Did i do the right thing? How do i handle this? I am no good at break ups, they always end so badly, the last guy i dumped stalked me for 2 years. What should I do?
