I have been recently diagnosed with Hepatitis C…..What can I expect?
Question by riddleornot: I have been recently diagnosed with Hepatitis C…..What can I expect?
I am a 45 year old male…seemingly healthy.
A test result while donating plasma uncovered this disease in me.
I take only one medication…3000mg of Neurontin for anxiety disorder…and have for several years.
I am an alcoholic addict in recovery.
I have been clean and sober 15 of the past 20 years.
These past five years I have drank off and on….but not for any substantial length of time. I did do meth. But I never shared needles…but I have shared the water to mix the dope in the spoon.
I am a professional and look great. I have been active in A.A. and N.A. and have been putting my life back on track. Now this…..man this is tough.
My love for God and my faith in him is the only thing I have to hold onto. But I’m ashamed to tell my pastor or anyone in my church.
My big sister died in 2001 with liver and kidney failure…she was Hepatitis C positive.
What can I do?
I have an appointment with a doctor on Jan 15….
I’m just going to pray…and pray.
I understand that the treatments for this disease can be devastating to both the mind and body.
Does anyone know?
Anyone with knowledge about this please help me.
Thanks,
Kelly in Chula Vista CA

Stop doing harm things to your liver ex: Alcohol, Tylenol, some cholesterol medications. Get Hepatitis B, Hep A vaccine and hope for the best. Good luck
