Really on edge about an alcohol evaluation at a clinic?
Question by D4HWM: Really on edge about an alcohol evaluation at a clinic?
I’m having a hard time dealing with this issue. I got a DWI (I know, poor judgement) and got put on probation and now I don’t drink anymore. I had to go to a clinic for an evaluation to see if I abuse alcohol. When I went, all we did was sign a bunch of papers and they did a saliva drug test. Then they gave us each a date for the actual evaluation. All of the people I know that have gotten DWI’s have gone to an individual instead of a clinic and they didn’t need the saliva test or treatment, but I feel very unsettle about going to a clinic instead since they will get money through my insurance if they put me in. What are the chances they will tell me I need to do their program even if I don’t drink anymore? Am I able to cancel the actual evaluation at this place and go to an individual? Or because I signed papers I need to stay here? I am very unsettle because of this place right now.
