Question about the Dr. Conrad Murray death investigation (Michael Jackson)?
Question by Ellen: Question about the Dr. Conrad Murray death investigation (Michael Jackson)?
Ok I’ve been reading on a fan site of MJ’s a bunch of fans are ticked off at members of the Jackson Family. Specifically Janet Jackson and older sister Rebbie. They both have spoken about multiple interventions they tried to have for Michael. They have both stated he had problems with prescription drug use.
My question is. Will the things that Janet and Rebbie have stated about Michael. Him abusing drugs or being ‘addicted’, will those statements HELP Dr. Conrad Murray’s defense? Would it matter if he was an addict? The facts are that the Propofol killed Michael and Murray gave it to him. Whether Michael asked for it or not, or he was using other drugs in the past doesn’t matter right? Nothing else was found in his system other than all the drugs that Murray admited that he injected.
So are fans getting bent out of shape here and talking about things they know nothing about in the legal sense? Just curious. I am an MJ fan but I refuse to treat him as God or to be a perfect being. That is the kind of pressure that helped push him down the road of destruction. He is a normal Human Being.
Thanks, and if you can please state your legal background?
Yes Allie it is from that board. There is a new article posted about Rebbie and people are tearing her to shreds. Here is the article being “discussed” http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/music/the_sister_who_mothered_mike_97WjuGNn5mv6DzZW0Ug7fJ#ixzz0lUYWsxUW
Can you explain, legally, how that helps Murray’s defense? Because I didn’t know that an “addict” was denied professional quality care. I didn’t realize that was a clause in the Hippocratic Oath.

Hey is this from the MJJboard? I’ve been meaning to check it out for a while now but I keep forgetting :/
I don’t think it should matter to be honest – it’s not about whether Michael was addicted to drugs – his doctor was there to HELP him. As a doctor, Murray should have known what he was and was not allowed to give Michael, and I love Mike but I won’t sugarcoat it – he knew he shouldn’t have been taking the drugs, along with that, who knows how much money he offered Murray. The point being, that Murray was supposed to be a professional doctor – all doctors state a vow to save lives, not hinder or end them. It doesn’t matter how much money they are offered – he went against doctor’s principles and was unprofessional.
He is guilty of that, among various other things, such as lying about the situation as well. He was a doctor and knew the drugs Michael apparently took were not to be admitted outside a hospital. There were also the claims that Michael had injected himself but wth – the doctor is supposed to prevent things like that, not being on the phone (apparently) and neglecting a patient when drugs are easy for the patient to get hold of.
I can empathize with Michael taking the drugs – he suffered severe insomnia among other things – he was stressed and clearly at the end of his tether, the drugs were a last resort for him. The doctor however, is supposed to help someone in ways in which they are not endangering the patients life and that is what Murray failed to do.
Think how many people everyday beg for drugs to help their pain or suffering! No professional doctor, I should hope, would give in to that.
I already told you I don’t think Michael was perfect – he really wasn’t. He was a normal human being who made mistakes. This however, was not one of them, and rests in the doctor’s arms alone.
Edit: Oh cool, thanks! I’ll check it out! 😀
Edit: (this is going to be such a long answer… lol) but 1) she is absolutely gorgeous. And two, that is so out of order, some of the comments because she was there to help him, and has stayed out of the spotlight as much as possible, so it’s not like she’s trying to cash in from his death or anything… I think some people are being kind of ridiculous.
Edit: I don’t think it matters if he was an addict or not, if someone is, they are supposed to be taken extra special care of – doctors are supposed to have special care lines set up for addicts, which makes leaving him alone with any drugs, or neglecting him when in possession of drugs whatsoever, that much worse.
