How can I, an 11 year old move out?
Question by Nichole H: How can I, an 11 year old move out?
Well, let’s start with my dad:
He drinks Jim Beam every night, every once in a while me and my mom have to sleep in the car. In fact, my dad is cussing at my mom right now about not having a job, and neither does he!! He has also tried to choke my mom 2 times!
Now, my sister. My sister moved out in a trailor with her boyfriend when she was 16, she’s now 19. She ran away time after time, too.
My cousin is in drug rehab for addiction to heroin, so that covers him.
My aunt didn’t want my cousin off of drugs. AND she stole my inheritance. My grandma just died and she tried steeling from her!
Now, my mom. She never drank before! But now she’s starting to drink beer. I can’t go through this again. I have terrible anxiety, insomnia and depression. Thanks goes to my dad.
But now to the real question. My life is pretty fucked up now (I know lots of ppl have it lots worse) but I really want to move out with a friend! I’m only 11, but I need help!!
Well, my mom won’t leave because “She is too old to start all over” she also says that she doesn’t want to leave everything she has earned, which is the same thing but whatever. For now, I’ll be fine, because, I mean atleast I have a roof over my head and food on my plate. I just wanna be out ASAP.
Oh my God, I just figured out my dad had a dead ex wife! Holy crap. But they were only married 6 months like 30 years ago, so it’s not a big deal.

Okay, short answer.
Move in with your friend (as long as their parents are okay with it), and leave your parents a note telling them to get help and that you won’t come back until they do.
If your friends parents aren’t okay with it, explain everything that’s going on. Explain to them that it’s only temporary until your parents get help. Also explain to them that you would rather live there than end up another kid trapped in the foster care system (which has ruined many lives).
Hopefully, they’ll understand.
You seem intelligent for an 11 year old, so I think whatever decision you make will be a good one.
