I am having a lot of trouble with coming up with a topic and my rough draft is due friday! My teacher is very picky with topics, she hates it when we use “safe topics” or safely write a paper. She wants us to be more controversial and original which is hard for me. here is the grading criteria:

It must be a source supported paper in which you will perfect the MLA formatting. The paper can be informative, solve a problem, prove a point, or a combination thereof (otherwise, it can be persuasive);it can alos be a contrast/compare. It cannot, however, be strictly to entertain: it must include research. It cannot be on the old standbys: abortion, death penalty, gun control, religious in nature, lowering the drinking age, sports, legalizing marijuana, a history of something, a biography, a topic based on personal opinion, or anything to do with sports.

If you could help me out I would really appreciate it! Thank you so much!

Global Warming
Environment – Keeping it clean
Shopping – How to prevent being in debt around the holidays or something
Music – How music affects people and different ways the media portrays this
Why teachers make you write essays – lol
Just be creative and use your imagination, I’m sure you’ll come up with something super, but I’d probably go with the environment or global warming idea 🙂
