I need a narc-anon family support group…?
Question by fuzzy_peach_15: I need a narc-anon family support group…?
My husband just told me he needed help and is addicted to oxycontin. Im trying to be supportive but I dealt with addiction with my father and Im feeling very resentful and angry. I need a narc-anon support group for families similar to al-anon. However, alanon would be fine… but he doesnt drink and I dont think those support groups would benefit me at all. I also can only find closed meetings for addicts when searching the meeting link from narcanon site.
I live in Wisconsin….
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I dont want help for him… I need help for ME. Someone to talk to who has been thru it before. He is already getting the help he needs.

What my boyfriend and family did for me with my morphine/oxycontin problem is they simply got close relatives together to discuss my problem. It only helped me a little to be completely honest. When somebody has an addiction the only person that can decide to get effective help is the addict themself when he/she is genuinely ready to quit. Most addicts won’t accept help until they are ready to seek help themselves. You can sure as hell try though. It wouldn’t hurt.
