i think thats the job of every freethinking rational skeptic. question everything, believe nothing is true until you get every shred of evidence even if you have sufficient amount of evidence still question. i still question evolution and the big bang, even though im a huge advocate of both. its a way to stay an honest intellectual.

When I said “too darn polite” I really meant it. The “too” in there is key. Let’s be polite, but let’s not make exceptions and then be extra-polite in some undeserving cases.
You asked “why doesn’t the church pay taxes?”. Do you realize that the question itself is still today considered impolite?
We have built a culture on which churches cannot be questioned. So let’s be polite, but not extra-polite, and question them as we question everything else.
i think you should still be polite but just voice your opinion with conviction and scream it proudly. keep an open ear but if its something you feel passionate about do not fall for bullshit.
@rubiconsedge i mean whats the definition of a business? i mean the church gets some profits, isnt that the very essence of a business and all business’s pay taxes. i think churches hide behind the constitution until there beliefs are attacked with the help of the constitution and then they throw the constitution out of the argument like it doesn’t matter anymore.

The church payes taxes,Everybody pays fedeal income tax.Churches are excempt from paying a state tax,city tax county tax etc.
