2008: MOST INSPIRATIONAL AWARD Speech to Saraina from Coach

Coach Brian Fitzgerald gives Saraina Hedgepeth MOST INSPIRATIONAL award due to her efforts in Camarillo Meet. Coach Fitz pulled Saraina out of class and said he wanted her to run 4 events (to help win the dual meet against #1 rival Camarillo). Saraina wins 3 out of 4 events, which helps to capture the meet, essentially ends her season due to injury, but amazingly comes back at the CIF STATE CHAMPIONSHIP as a strong 2nd leg on Rio Mesa’s 4×100 relay team! Saraina was determined to stay in shape and resorted to deep-water running throughout her rehab period! No weights or speed training until just shortly before Division pre-lims! Go Saraina !!!
