id like to know the difference between oxycontin,lorcet and vicoprofen. i want to ask my doctor to switch me to oxy,because i think it has no profen and no tylenol in it. better for my kidneys i hope.thanks!

oxycontin has acetominophen in it (tylenol) any medicine you take over a long amount of time is going to mess with your kidneys. go for whichever medicine works best to manage your pain.

Oxy has acetaminophen in it…which is the same as Tylenol. Our doctors here at the hospital will no longer prescribe anything that has Tylenol in it…and the FDA is actually having talks of removing them from use. I would talk to your doctor about other options for pain management rather than asking him to switch you to a certain medication.
