I think my friend is going to try speed?

Question by Candy Little: I think my friend is going to try speed?
I’m 15 years old and so is my friend. She smokes weed a lot and has tried a couple hallucinogens. I don’t think that is that bad because I’ve had a lot of friends who have also done that, but she really doesn’t have judgement and stuff.
Anyway, it’s Christmas break, and she went away to visit her family and friends in LA. A week or so before she left, she mentioned that she wanted to try speed to help her ADHD and that her friend in LA has some. I told her not to of course but I don’t think that will help.. I really think that when she comes back, she will have tried speed.
I only met her a few months ago, but we’ve become pretty good friends. If she has really tried speed, what can I expect? Should I ditch her as a friend? I always said that I wouldn’t be friends with a meth addict, but I still want to be friends with her!
What can I do to help? I’m actually a little worried now that I think about it.
Thank you 🙂

Hi Candy Little,

I am sorry to hear your story and while I may not have the answer for you
I wanted to say how much I admire you wanting to help your friend.

What I did do though was Google “speed addiction” and found some
useful websites that may give you the advice you need.

Sorry, I know “speed addiction” sounds a bit strong but Ii couldn’t think
of what else to search for!

I wish you luck in steering her in the right direction.

PS nothing wrong with weed though 😉
