Opiate Addict, Please Help?

I’ve been addicted to oxycodone for the past 2 years. Before anyone corrects me, I’m not dependent on prescribed , I’m addicted to prescription not prescribed to me. I’m ready to quit, because I’m tired of the financial strain it’s put on me, and because I’m sick and tired of going through these massive withdrawals when I don’t have any. I don’t know what to do, I’ve kept this completely hidden from family and friends this whole time, I’ve got no one to turn to, and no idea where to start on the road to recovery. I’ve heard of the traditional treatment, but I’ve heard dependency develops with that, too. Also, I’ve heard of treatment but my supplier told me his wife is on it, and the doctor told her she’d be on it the rest of her life. I wanna get off pills, not switch to another alternative. I am far too terrified to jus go cold turkey, and get over it, I tried once, but after 8 days, the withdrawals had not let up and I relapsed. I’m so lost, if it helps anyone to give me advice, I’ve been taking 3, 80mg OxyContins for the past 2 years, everyday. That’s 320mg everyday. Is there anyone who’s gone through this before? What can I do? Please no judgemental answers, I feel terrible enough, considering I’m only 18, and am already an addict, and have gone through alcoholism, meth addiction, and addiction. I need help, can anyone help me?

For 2 years, thats a long time. You need professional help, i would seek out a rehab of some sort, because withdrawels can will put your body through hell. At least if you go cold turkey you have professionals around to help you. And yea methadone can easily become just another addiction. Once your off it your off it, and your lifes better.
And also i believe you should seek out some help, because if youve been addicted to many things, there can be an underlying cause why you seek out drugs and alcohol.
Because if your not in the right mind set, you will just swap one addiction for another.

    Good luck :)

Hey just try to be cool.
First thing u should do for this is nothing but PRAYER.

u do pray unto god and ask him to give u strength to over come this and even if u couldn’t stand and again gone into ur temptation , just dont feel guilty, keep on praying. God will help u and give u way to overcome this.

My small suggestion.. coriander leaves has effect to avoid all kinds of alcohol. IN India we do make a paste in this leaves.

coriander leaves, tamarind and green chillies. and few other.

it makes us automatically to hate all kinds of alcohols

the more u take coriander leaves the more u ll get cure, and by the way keep on praying , god will give u strength.

After u got cured give me a mail.

    I ll pray for u.

Dont give up prayer and other steps to stop ur addiction, it ll get cure soon.

herbal and natural foods will give u more medicines

Hello! First of all I will commend you for admitting you are a addict. I have been thru this myself and being honest with your loved ones is very important. You will need support thru this. You may have to take methadone or another medication to help you thru this. Just remember if you get help thru professionals they have done this many times and they know what they are doing. Whatever you might have to take to help you thru this they can reduce the dose a little bit at a time to wean you off of it. I know where you are at also about the financial part but that money is gone and that should be the least of your worries. At this point what do you have to loose in trying to get help and trusting others. Remember you are not the first to go thru this and you will not be the last. Drug addiction has become an epidemic in today’s society and they have come along way with recovery. Love yourself enough to do this. You are young and you can bounce back from this. Just take it one day at a time. Good luck!!!

You need to go to detox, now! You are correct – do NOT attempt this on your own. AND, you need not bother with deciding on the correct way to treat this, be it methadone or Suboxone – it’s not for you to decide. This is what the professionals are for.

You have to go to detox and get this stuff out of your body safely. You sound like you genuinely want help, so go get it. You have struggled with addiction before, time to make the trip again – and if you did not address the alcoholism and meth problems in treatment, then you did not work a full recovery program.

Get to a good program in your area ASAP. If finances are not available to you, there are plenty of programs that will take you in for free.

Please get help – I’ll be thinking of you.

I also want to say, you should be proud of yourself for admitting you have a problem(that’s the first step). Now, I too have been addicted before about 11 years ago and just 2 years ago I was Dr. assisted dependant. I have had 11 surgeries and I’m 35. My first surgery 14 years ago was botched up by a Dr. that had his license revoked. Ever year since then I have had something that has caused me to have to take pain medication. The first time I went to rehab…big mistake! It may work for some but the place I went to was mostly just people talking about getting out to call their dealer. I was eventually off medication. However, being depressed because of all the things I lost, due to being addicted, I turned to Alcohol. Meeting my husband and getting pregnant caused me to stop drinking. Then of course I started having scar tissue problems from being operated on so much. I was sent to pain management. Also a place I would not go again. There are some good places I’m sure but this place had me on 2 kinds of morophine, percocet, and Lyrica. I asked them for 3 months (3 appts.) to lower my medication because I was a zombie. They refused. I tried to do it myself, but my body was dependant on it by then. I took the meds. to my primary Dr. and dumped them on her desk and asked her to get me off the medication. She was not sure at first but decided she would try for me. She said you have to take some kind of narcotic to get yourself off of the higher pain meds. I told her I wanted Tylenol#3 nothing higher. So she put me on Tyl 3, xanax for sleep and anxiety, phenergen for nausea. I went where I was most comfortable and had around the clock supervision… my parents. My dad is retired so he administered my medication, kept in touch w/ my Dr. and she weened me down off the high meds., then the meds. for my detox. I never felt better after I came off of everything. That was the best high of all. Now I have been diagnosed with something that has no cure and they want to put me on morphine and percocet. I refuse. I just pray, put my pain in Gods hands and it really helps. I have went from a size 10 to a size 1, or 2 in a month because I throw up from the pain. You (and me) will always be an addict. I’m technically a recovering addict, but you will always have to watch yourself. Also you may think you’re hiding it from your family…they most likely know and don’t know how to approach it. If your going to do it. You need to first come clean with your family because you will need a support system, see your Dr. for his/her opinion on which route to take, if you detox with your Dr.’s help go someplace you feel safe and where someone is home all day. I also wrote in a journal everyday about my feelings etc., I love music so I listened constantly. I did scratch my arms until they were bleeding, called my dad every name in the book if he was 1 minute late with my meds., smoked cigarettes and I think they are gross, and eventually talked to my dad a lot because it took my mind off things. It also feels really good to cry. I feel terrible for you right now but with a good support system and determination on your part, I think your going to be fine. Your only 18 and trust me… life is so much better when your mind is clear and you learn how to have emotions again.I’m going to star your question because I want to know how you are doing and add you to my contacts so you can e-mail me if you need to talk. You can do this. ADDITION: This disease was most likely passed on from a family member, so don’t be afraid to talk to them. Addicts usually replace one addiction with another, just try to make it something constructive. I have started writing music and trying to help people here on the internet. Don’t go too overboard though!

I did 5 80′s a day. Methadone, my friend. three weeks and done. You been getting the oxy illegal so do so with the meth. and you are physically dependant. it’s the same thing.

get the meth I will advise you/ PHUCK professionals, they don’t take the crap, I did and weaned off it all.

  • x0tayylor0x:

either you switch over to suboxone (NOT METHADONE), or start tapering down until you get to where you can handle the w/ds.

get some valium or xanax to help you sleep and maybe find some weaker opiates (like hydrocodone) to help once you run out of oxy.

i just got over a 4 month methadone (well pretty much ANY opiate) addiction. methadone is not a fun thing to get clean from, so i highly advise do NOT get on it. i was using recreationally as well, to an extent.

if you have restless leg, go see your doctor and tell him whats going on. i have been on mirapex for it and i am SO glad i am. OH and if you do, do NOT take anything otc. (nyquil, unisom, benadryl) it will only make it worse.

load up on vitamins and if you drink certain teas it will also help.
there is also a plant/crystal (not sure) called ibogaine used to physical dependance on substances. some rehabs use to for detox. but it can be dangerous. google it. you can buy it on the internet, its not illegal.

but, all those addictions, you should really just go to rehab and detox. there are a lot of temptations out there and relapsing is NOT fun.

    good luck
